Comments: Specimen is exhibited in its field jacket, as discovered, and has been partially prepared. The skull and vertebral column have been air-abraded, with several large areas yet to be exposed. Numerous large and well-defined cranial elements are preserved, including the occipital condyle, where the first vertebra attaches to the skull. Compared to body size, the teeth are disproportionately small and have primitive-type serrations. From observations in the field, where the other side of the skeleton was uncovered during excavation, it is apparent that there are one or more fin elements yet to be exposed.

This specimen represents the largest and most complete discovery of this undescribed shark type. Plus, it contains substantial soft-tissue preservation of the vertebral, cranial, and skin elements.

Due to its scientific importance, the specimen will only be sold or to an institution that qualifies as a permanent repository, OR to an individual who agrees to donate the specimen to a permanent repository.
